A 4D Pog is simply a paper or plastic round pog that represents your 4DStory. It can represent a character, a scene, or just the whole story.
That pog with the character on it, that you see here, is a gamified pog that takes the person who receives that pog through a number of scenarios, leading them to a reward.
There are countless strategies for using these pogs and through our online portal,
we'll keep you posted of some of the best ones.
Here's how to produce printed QR Code pogs.
1.) Design the front of the pog, per your printer's template.
We recommend gotprint.com, here is their template. You can also use their online designer at that same link.
2.) The back of the pog is where you print your QR code. If you use beaconstac.com then you can also include a character or other image inside the qr code.
Here's how to produce plastic NFC pogs.
1.) Contact the good folks at Plastic Printers and discuss your requirements with one their sales designers.
2.) These pogs have NFC chips embedded in them so the backside can be freed up for whatever you want to use it for, such as your token logo, a character from your 4DStory, or the story logo. It's up to you..
Let's discuss a few ways you can use these Phygital Pogs, just to get some ideas going. There are endless ways to use these, but when applying them to a 4DStory, the ways they get used are even fresh.
Using our "Night Shades" 4DStory about a boy and his empathic dog being able to see UFO's and strange alien beings that are beginning to gather at a local pub in their town, but nobody else can see them. Which means they can't tell anyone, so they have to find a way to motivate the adults in their lives to take specific actions, in order to help them save the town or whatever is needed in response to this foreign activity.
So that's the plot line. If I want to promote the whole story, I might print 1,000 pogs with the story's logo on the front and on the back, print the 4DStory logo. The NFC chip from Plastic Printers will include an interface that will allow you to change the url at any time. And if they don't have that feature like you want it, then contact marblemedia.io for additional solutions.
The link would likely go to the home page of the story, in this case nightshades.fans
But it could also go to a landing page inviting them to become a member
Distribute those Pogs as giveaways, meaning that you link it to a shopping cart and you add something to that shopping cart that you are giving away. Most shopping carts can process digital or hard goods. Maybe I get a deal with RayBan to give away 100 pairs of shades and so I put those shades in the shopping cart and give Pogs away throughout my community. The first 100 people that get to the page, can go through the checkout process to receive their gift. The shopping cart manages giving the items away and when its out of inventory, you can have a custom message that sends them links them somewhere else in the 4DStory.
These Pogs can act as a portal into your 4DStory campaign, engaging them with various campagins to keep them scanning their QR code often.
The Pogs can link to special appearances and behind-the-scene episodes of their favorite characters. You can share blooper reels or give special access to a chosen event. Your fan base will keep you informed of what to give away and who to align with as sponsors.
There are some NFC's that allow you to track where the tap-in's are happening geographically, allowing you to get really strategic about your targeting of ads and other engagement.
If you want to create more intricate campaigns, get yourself a Primera custom printer so you can print individual QR codes to create a network of Pogs that can be traded or connected with amongst a closed community such as a school or facebook group, etc.
The over-arching purpose of the pog's is to bring the story out of the digital realm and into the physical realm, bridging the gap between the two for a unique kind of engagement opportunity. It's also a way to create a sense of the story being distributed in 4D, through multiples modes.
And my last suggestion is to use them as actual tokens. You can give them away at an event or as raffle prizes, etc. When they are scanned, it takes the user to a page where they can redeem whatever tokens or NFTs you are giving away.
Again, the strategies for use are endless. Let us know what you come up with.
