The Process
A crypto wallet is a digital wallet that allows you to acquire and spend your crypto currency. NFT's are minted on the Ethereum blockchain and Rarible is the marketplace where we will promote our characters. You can use any wallet you like or build your NFT's on other blockchains like Flow and Tezos, or use any other NFT marketplace. These are just three reliable platforms for us to use in teaching how to get started.
- Download, install, and configure your MetaMask crypto wallet @ Metamask.io
- Purchase Etherium to pay for minting the NFT
- Register and mint your 4D Character on Rarible.com
- Enter your NFT serial number into your 4D Character profile

The Motivation
Gas fees fluctuate, so be sure to watch the video on gas fees to understand them better. Each time you sell an NFT or transfer it on the blockchain, you will have to pay gas fees, which at the moment are a fluctuating target. This will change as more NFT's hit the market and subsidiaries begin to offer buffer accounts to normalize the gas fee. (That is yet to come.) So by creating the NFT on Rarible at this stage, you are simply recording it in their database, they host it on their marketplace and then when it's sold, the buyer or seller pays the gas fees to mint it. But understand that as you popularize your 4D Character, either alone or in a full blown 4DStory, you will be missing out on being able to monetize its value on the blockchain if you don't at least get it registered. Plus it matters when you register it on the blockchain and write it into permanent record. There are other ways to monetize your 4DC's with sponsors and such, but this is the best way to capture value and to extend your reach into the larger developing Metaverse ecosystem.
